The Rollercoaster Ride No One Prepared you For!
So, here you are, a new parent, navigating the wild, wonderful, and often weird world of parenthood.
Spoiler alert: it’s not always the Pinterest-perfect picture you imagined. (That's absolutely ok!)
Here are a few confessions from the front lines of motherhood that I hope will maybe make you feel a little less alone in this beautiful chaos we call being a new parent!

1. You've Googled “Is my baby normal?” more times than you can count!
You thought you was prepared. You read the books, took the classes, and listened to endless advice from well-meaning family and friends. Yet, nothing quite prepared you for the sheer volume of questions you would have. Is it normal for a baby to hiccup this much? Why does she make that weird noise when she sleeps? Google doesn’t always have the answers, but it sure knows how to feed your paranoia.
2. Your wardrobe is now 90% spit-up-proof.
Forget those chic post-pregnancy outfits you imagined yourself rocking. These days, your go-to attire revolves around what can withstand the inevitable onslaught of baby fluids. Milk stains, drool, and other unmentionables have become the new accessories.
3. You've cried over spilled milk—literally.
Breastfeeding (or bottle-feeding) is no joke. It only takes another sleep-deprived night, when you accidentally knock over a freshly pumped bottle. Watching your hard-earned milk pool on the floor, Pro tip: always secure the bottle first.
4. You secretly love those 3 AM feedings.
As exhausting as they are, there’s something magical about the quiet of the night, the world asleep, and this tiny human in your arms, looking up with those big eyes. It’s our little moment of peace and connection in the chaos of the day.
5. You've mastered the art of the “mum nap.”
The power of a 10-minute nap is incredible. While your baby sleeps, you've learned to catnap just about anywhere: the couch, the nursery floor, even propped up against a pile of laundry. It’s a survival skill you never knew you needed.
6. Your camera roll is 99% baby photos.
Remember those days when your camera roll was filled with selfies, food pics, and travel snaps? Now, it’s all baby, all the time. Every smile, yawn, and milestone is meticulously documented.
7. You've redefined “me time.”
Gone are the days of leisurely spa afternoons or uninterrupted reading marathons. Now, “me time” looks like a solo trip to the grocery store, a quick shower, or even five minutes to sip a hot coffee. And you know what? You will cherish every second of it.
8. You're winging it—and that’s okay.
Every day brings new challenges and surprises. You've accepted that you don’t have all the answers and that it’s okay to improvise. There’s no manual for this job, and each baby is different. The best you can do is trust your instincts and keep a sense of humor.
9. You've discovered a new level of love.
Despite the sleepless nights, the spit-up, and the constant worry, being a mum is the most incredible thing you've ever experienced. The love you feel for this tiny human is beyond anything you could have imagined. It’s fierce and unconditional.

So, to all the new parents out there feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and a little bit crazy—know that you’re not alone.
We’re all in this together, figuring it out one day (or one meltdown) at a time. Embrace the mess, laugh, and remember: you’re doing an amazing job!
